Art and the Human Condition

The human condition encompasses all of the experiences of being human. Human beings all posses a series of biological events that they must learn to react to and cope with. The ongoing way in which humans go about this process is the human condition. The term is also used in a metaphysical sense, to describe the joy, terror, fear, and other emotions associated with being and existence. Expressing the human condition through art is something that is nearly as old as art itself. What better way to express universal feelings, trials, and tribulations than through self expression? Art and the human condition go hand in hand. You can't have one without the other. Perhaps the human condition is one of the main foundations on which art is based upon. Perhaps, in a sense, the human condition is a work of art in itself.
